In keeping with tradition, Francophones and Francophiles gathered at the University of Sudbury on September 25th to celebrate the Franco-Ontarian flag and Franco-Ontarian day 2019.
With the rainy weather, a few encouraging and touching words were first spoken by various representatives to the crowd gathered in Canisius Hall. Everyone then made their way outside for the 44 th ceremonial Franco-Ontarian flag raising, on the original flag pole where this flag was raised for the very first time on September 25 th, 1975. The rain didn’t stop an impressive crowd of about 200 people from gathering to celebrate this day.
We thank ACFO du grand Sudbury, our partner for this event, as well as all those that played a role in making the day a big success.
In the evening, the University of Sudbury also took part in the green illuminations. To see more photos or videos of the day, check out our social media pages.
