An evening with Magical Paws Pet Therapy

On Wednesday November 29, approximately twenty-five students from the Lucien Matte Residence spent a wonderful stress free evening with dogs and their handlers from Magical Paws Pet Therapy. They thoroughly enjoyed hugs and cuddles from these furry friends.

“Therapy dogs can improve physical and mental health, enhance vocabulary and memory, and increase socializing. The simple motion of petting a dog reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, distracts from chronic pain, also can help people deal with grief.” - Annette Lumbis, coordinator of Magical Paws Pet Therapy.

The activity was organised by Sydney, a nursing student who is doing her community internship at the Lucien Matte residence.
